Summary

A woman dealt with a balance issue for over 15 years, visiting four different neurologists who eliminated conditions like ALS and MS but couldn't provide answers, until the last neurologist diagnosed spinocerebellar ataxia, which progressively worsened causing double vision, terrible balance, and occasional falls, leading her to progress from a cane to double arm crutches which she hated. After an acupuncturist became the first person who truly understood and introduced her to Dr. Joe's work, she attended her first seven-day experience and learned to focus on creating her future self through meditations. On the night before the first walking meditation, she focused her intention on throwing down her crutches and walking on her own, and after completing the walking meditation with positive energy and collective support from the group, she came back to the center, put down her crutches next to her chair, and started walking for the first time without them. Just one day and one hour of walking meditation made a huge difference, and she's now working toward her optimum goal of being able to run with her granddaughter, convinced that three days of work at the retreat has transformed her perspective, feeling about herself, and her future.
